Nabe Party 2

February 25th, 2007

Yay for nabe! Yay for parties! Here’s a quick video and a few photos (included in the video) that show my “boys night” style nabe party with Murakami-sensei and Matsuda-sensei from Oshima High School. These guys rule. I hope we hang out again soon. (The[y] both speak English really well, too. But it’s ok with me when they want to speak in Japanese. Makes things more natural. No awkward moments.) Cool. Ok, onto the media.

By the way, folks who could not make it to this party…the next one is scheduled for March 10th. Saturday. Be there or be lacking in nabe goodness. There might even be some Wii Sports hilarity. You know you want in on that. :-)

  • You want dibs? You got dibs! Lemme know when you can come, and I'll meet you in Imabari if necessary. Hopefully some other guys will come from Imabari too. We can ride the ferry back here together. (It'd obviously have to be earlier than the thing starts...there's shopping and battery charging and pre-party Wii warmups to do, you know.) :-D You should really come. I might even let you have a shot at wooing our yakitori lady away from us and taking her back to Kagawa-ken. Maybe.
  • a few things:

1.) I would like my own yakitori lady. I love that stuff. I wish I had a conveyor belt in my apt to bring that stuff in and the sticks out.

2.) how was the kimchi nabe? was it kim....relax. not gonna make that horrible pun. anywho, we here in Kagawa have also decide that kimchi is the best to use

anywho, I want dibs on your next nabe night.
  • It was a reminder to get a very important ingredient on our list...which would be beer. You can't do a nabe party and lack alcohol. I am pretty sure that's a law. And if it isn't, it really should be. (Also, the music is Jump's Too High, from their album Vertigo.) :-) Glad to see a comment from you, man.

The music's awesome, and the food looks fantastic. One question ... What's the random statement, "Alcohol," in the middle of the video? :D
  • Argh...typo will be fixed, my brilliant twin. It's about time someone picked on me, I guess. And yay for the music. :-)

And yes, I do own that nabe cooker. Though, I admit, I am willing to try and force it to do sukiyaki and shabushabu. Cause, heck, then I can have even more parties!
  • do you own an actual nabe cooker that I see there?
  • Emily
so, THE both speak Engilsh pretty well huh? better than you type? haha. just kidding. love ya.

oh yeah--i've got Good Monsters ready to send you the next time we're online.
  • Hey Mom - glad to see you still read this. :-) Wasn't sure. I update pretty frequently, and figured you got lost in it or just lost interest in the mundane stuff I post. Ha ha. Make sure the rest of the family has this address too, please. I'll email you. Skype only works if you choose humane hours. Ha ha ha.
  • Mom
Hello, my wonderful son! I enjoyed the video of you and your friends shopping and cooking. Maybe we'll connect on Skype soon! Miss you!
