That whole "Gotcha" thing doesn't work for me either. The best example I can come up with is the section in the first Harry Potter book, where they come across Snape's potion puzzle. And yes, I did just re-read all six Harry Potter books (in reverse chronological order) to get ready for the seventh book, so I kind of have Harry Potter on the brain.

Anyway, the potion puzzle is this really nifty little word puzzle, and you can ALMOST solve it. I've tried several times, but the thing is, the puzzle makes reference to the size of two of the potion bottles, and, as a reader, you have no access to that information. It's very frustrating.

So, wildly off topic, but your post made me think of it. *totters off to be random somewhere else*

I'm not gonna lie, Nic. It wasn't the professor that got me - but the girl (currently doing commercials for the au phone company). They have the quirkiest dynamic going on. I like it.

I don't know Clay at all, but he has gotten me addicted to Trick as well. After I saw that professor's picture on his blog... well, there was no stopping me.

Really fun. I've only just started too. So thank you Clay.

Clay - I haven't changed anything... :-( But I am working on a new modified template. I don't know CSS or PHP or Javascript (or even advanced HTML), so it's a booger to figure out simple things like changing the color scheme. And I'm considering a flash bit at the top - but the point was to make the site faster...but I don't want it to be too boring...aaaagh. If anyone has any help...

Alex - Medium, huh? I get into supernatural mystery shows, no matter how hokey they are. I'll give it a shot if I run into it. I'm still a fan of (yes, I'll admit this) Murder, She Wrote, Poirot, and Jane Marple, as well as the classic Sherlock Holmes stuff. Can't help myself... I even got hooked to "boring" shows like City Confidential and its ilk.

I feel the same way, but there's one show that I can excuse because it's still very entertaining, and it's not the normal type of mystery:

Medium.

They've been broadcasting it on the international FOX channel here in Korea. My wife loves it, and she got me hooked on it as well. It's a well written show, but it's based on supernatural elements so it's more like you are having a tragedy revealed to you in pieces rather than trying to figure out "who done it."

I'll have to check it out.
Have you seen all the trick media? I am a trickophile; I even have two of the books.

btw, new text color makes it possible to see the text before the boxes load=good; so thanks for changing that.
