Feeling Loved

Heard from something like 9 people asking me if I was ok after the big quakes in Niigata. Gave me warm fuzzies. (The concern, not the quakes.) Let me assure everyone that I live far, far away from Niigata – I’ve been skiing there once, but that’s about it – and I live on an island. We get earthquakes here, but they’re usually a 3 or 4 at most on the Japanese degree scale. The one in Niigata was far stronger. So, thanks guys. I’m ok.

Also, the last piece of my secret mission is falling into place today. I’ll be posting about it tomorrow, I hope. (Provided I have the opportunity to do some prep work after the enkai tonight celebrating the end of the school term. Wahoo!) That actually reminds me. Can anyone explain this – school gets out tomorrow, the 20th, but we’re having a drinking party for the staff and faculty tonight, the 19th. WHY do they schedule things so strangely? The last day of class is going to feature some hung over teachers…tsk, tsk, tsk. :-D

  • Ha ha ha - awesome. I really can't perfectly describe just how relieved I am not to have been party to that whole fiasco. Near miss and all, but I seem to have come out of it alright. (Did you purposefully link the actual kamikaze with the kamikaze geese, or was that a divine coincidence?) Either way, thank you for your reciprocation of concern. I do, indeed, feel good about not having been a Mongolian invader in 1281 during the typhoon season who attempted to attack Kyushu. Almost as glad as I am that I didn't kill any geese with my face in 1999, nor associate with any super models who did. ;-)
  • I'd like to reciprocate my relief, and just tell you, Deas, how glad I am that you were not injured in the Niigata earthquake, and also how happy I am that you were not a Mongolian invader headed to Kyushu in 1281 when a typhoon destroyed their fleet. Either way, you're safe on a small island in southern Japan, and that's something that we can all feel good about.
  • Now then, I never said your friends were stupid, I simply said mine were intelligent. I totally used a が and not a は

Or maybe they are all ignorant in different ways.

Finally, there is not much legally to be done about someone who sends you emails and ears. Well, maybe about the ears case...

OMG Deas, it was so cute! I was on the phone with Josh and he asked if you were ok, and he said that Jessie was worried too. I ofcourse hadn't even heard about it, and then he told me about where it was and I asked if it was in the north or the south. He said north, and I was like, "Nah. He's fine. He lives in on one of them boondock islands in the south. hehe." Mom started emailing you, and made me get Josh's email address so she could email him an update to tell him if you were ok. He said Jessie was really concerned and he sounded all worried. So never fear, Deas! You are loved.

p.s. I love you, too. And I was very concerned until I found out where it was, then ( I dont mean this the way it sounds) I didn't really care. hehe.
  • You should start getting in touch with the appropriate authorities about your stalker guy. Uncool. And now your whole blog is on lockdown. (Kinda makes it pointless for people who might try to access it via a link, since they'd have to be invited anyway.) :-(

Yeah, you live farther away, though. (I still remember the song. Good times.) And it's not that I think people who sent me emails are unintelligent - they just don't know Japanese geography so well. You gotta admit - it's a small country. So saying "in Japan" has a tighter feel than saying "in Canada" or "in China." The spread is different, so they worried. :-) You're just sad cause you didn't feel loved...
  • The only person that asked me was my stalker :/
but I assume that is cause everyone else has the intellegence to realize I live nowhere near there.
