The numbers given in the text are right - I only think I left out a "mandatory donation" of around 2,000 yen for some traffic campaign. They get it before they pass your new license to you. Ha ha. Gotta love it. Mom - thanks! And I promise to be careful. The license is good for a few years. So I won't need to renew it while I'm here. And when I head back I'll sell it. I already worked that stuff out with the shop I bought it from - thoroughly covered my bases from buying to selling and maintenance in between. :-) I'm good. Yeah, I love that I paid for 2 years of the mandatory insurance and it cost me only about 120 USD…and no shaken sham inspection, too. Gotta love it.
