Yes doctors offices litter the streets. But often, I get recommended specific hospitals for whatever ailment I have

Hmm. I havent really thought about it, but now that you mention it, I haven't needed the doctor in years. Must be the green tea + natural vitamin supplements combo keeping the doctor away. Oh, and that daily apple, of course.

Must confess I've never even heard of "Black Hospital"...but it sounds cool! I'd like to get some of my most hated English TV personalities on there. I could start counting down how long Jady Goody's got til she falls off the perch! Mwhahaha.

I knew it as "Black Hospital," too - but when I searched "Black Hospital" it turned up much less. Then again, I'm still getting the hang of searching for stuff in Japanese. Ha ha. I liked the show ok, except that my host family liked to watch it while eating. It's a real appetite killer. Ha ha ha. The "how many years left" one is much less interesting, and waaaaay too long. 3 hours or something last time. Sheesh. Left it on while I did chores for background noise.

Five pills is par for the course for a cold here! And they usually don't work anyway; you're probably just as well taking a Lemsip (or whatever the blend of lemon and aspirin is called here) as wasting time at the quack's!

Oh, and we just call the program Black Hospital; much easier to remember. It's one of my favourite shows, actually. The "how many years left" show is relatively entertaining, but shallow on medical information, although in the Spring they wired Jinnai up to a one day ECG and caught him watching a dirty movie (or more!!!) when Norika was away, as there was an unexpected high heartbeat spike for 10 minutes in the evening.

Well - I stand corrected. Thanks for the comment! Must be a savage cold to require five different pills. Ha ha ha. That's pretty normal from what my friends tell me. I've lived in Japan for 2 years total now, and have yet to go to the doctor or hospital a single time, so I lack firsthand experience. Good to know.

They have doctors offices here in Japan. I was just sent to one the other day. The doctor said I had a common cold and prescribed me 5 different pills.
