Nick - I was rather tempted to use it an excuse not to sit the test. But I'm afraid that I'll never move forward if I don't....start. You know? Too comfortable right now. (And I agree with the praise for the 6 month schedule change. Though, I'll be honest, it probably won't change my schedule...ha ha ha. I'll just try from whatever country I'm in if I'm still a failure years down the road.)

Chuck - as my biology teacher / vice principal Mr. Shaw used to say, "You don't need luck, you need knowledge. Therefore, I say to you, 'Good knowledge.' For those of you who didn't study, 'good luck.'" Ha ha ha. He also referred to tests as "grade boosters / busters." We shall see where I stand come test time. But it doesn't look good...

I would've been fuming if that had happened to me, but I probably would have used it as an excuse not to sit the test! Anyway, it sounds like you've got a great friend there, Deas. I can't think of many people that would drop everything on a moment's notice like that.

As for the 6-month change, I think it's brilliant. Back in the days when I was doing the tests, passing or failing determined whether or not we'd stay in Japan for another year. Failing the test would bring some people to tears because they'd promised themselves they wouldn't go home until they passed, and failing meant staying another full year - which was more than many English teachers could bear.

Alex - yeah, that's part of the plan. I should get 2 practice runs in before I leave (if I leave) in 2009. I feel like if I take it once it'll make it easier the second time around. You know?
