Twittering

January 24th, 2009

You may notice some weird stuff as I attempt to get Twitter working for me. Here’s my profile. I’ve just recently started thinking about a major overhaul to the blog. This is one tiny step forward. Gotta get my head around this stuff before a redesign is in the pipeline. Anyway, sorry for any inconvenience it causes. (I’m trying to catch up with the times! StumbleUpon and JapanSoc integration are also on the list.)

  • Lance - thanks for your hint! One thing I'm using it for is to get around the access problems I come across at a few schools. TwitterTools lets me post a Tweet separately from a WordPress post, and automatically picks up every WordPress post for use as a Tweet. (That makes sense if you read it twice.) So...I'll see. If I can get TweetDeck working at schools, I may be tempted to switch over to Twitterfeed. :-)

Deas, I noticed you're using Twitter Tools for your twitter integration. You seem to have it working, and if you're happy with it great. I'd recommend checking out Twitterfeed. You can impliment it without loading anything. It watches the RSS feed of your blog and when there are new posts, it automatically posts to twitter for you. You have to feel safe giving them your twitter password though... But still, I like not having to laod software on my webserver/blog. Anyway, good luck either way!
