Thinking Ahead

February 12th, 2009

Man alive. I’ve just begun thinking about everything that’s rushing up on me. I just purchased airline tickets to Taipei, Taiwan not 20 minutes ago. (YAY! First trip abroad in 2009, baby!) The simple transaction got me mulling over the logistical plunge that I need to take once I’m back from that trip at the end of March. I’ve got to get my Japanese visa extended for a fourth year. It expires in July. I need to get my new credit card here to Japan and then swapped out with the old one before it also expires this summer. I’ve got to try for the JLPT in summer to try and get a better score before taking it again in winter, because it gets harder in 2010. (Though, honestly, I should retake it once it becomes harder anyway to try and rise to that occasion, too.) I’m currently updating a Google Group aimed at planning a beloved English summer camp of mine which at present is only assuredly happening one last time – I suppose I’m hoping that if I can make the administration of the camp easy enough, drop the burdensome nature of it enough, that it might just save the camp from ending its more than 50 year long consecutive run. And hey, even if I can’t, I’ll have tried. In short, there’s a lot on my plate that needs to happen between now and summer. The cool thing is, I have a strategy. And a man with a plan is better than a man about to get bulldozed by life. Right? :-)
