Belated Giri-Choco

February 18th, 2009

Valentine’s Day was last Saturday, but I got my first (and only) giri-choco yesterday. One of my English teachers at my base school gave it to me. Very thoughtful of her. Little did she know that in lieu of honmei-choco this year, I received 2 dress shirts and a tie – a much finer gift than chocolates if I do say so myself. But the gesture is appreciated. It’s always nice to be remembered! Ha ha.

Also, Claytonian recently posted a video on YouTube to which I made my first ever video response. Both videos are in Japanese, folks. Sorry! I’ll follow Clay’s lead and subtitle the Japanese with annotations after the fact. :-D Cheers!

• So sorry mum and dad and family!!!! I'm a good girl, honest.

Goddess Carlies last blog post was: Journey to the top of Osaka - Hep Five Ferris Wheel
• Carlie - ha ha - it's all good. Caught it in a flash. No worries. We know you're a good girl!
• Carlie - my family reads this blog! Family friendly! Family friendly! Ha ha ha. Edited for content! I have, however, heard of that. Needless to say, I agree with you. ;-) (Ha ha - if you didn't get here super-fast after she posted, you don't know what we're talking about!)
• Loved the Japanese in the video :) [Edited! Sorry! - Deas]

• Naho - thanks for the comment(s)! :-) I guess you would probably say "basement food floor" in English. I never thought about how to say デパ地下 before. Ha ha. This year, Valentine's Day was on a weekend, so I wasn't at school - it's much easier to be forgotten that way! Oh, and by the way, you shouldn't be nervous when posting comments - people who comment here are a friendly bunch. We'll help with mistakes, but we won't make fun of you or anything. :-D (That's how I deal with Japanese, too. You can't be scared of mistakes!)
• Naho
I made a mistake;;
I hope you'll give→you'll get/you'll be given?
It was opposite meaning;;
• Naho
Congratulations on your giri-choco!w
MOROZOFF is one of the famous cake chain store, which sell at depa-chika(basement food floor?). You look fine I watched the video though. I hope you'll give more choco next year.w
By the way, I become nervous when I posted the comment in English because most or all seem to be native speakers;; Is my English is comprehended?;;
